Talented Youth Math Olympiad On April 27th
The Centre for Talented Youth Bermuda is getting set to host its 10th annual Math Olympiad on April 27, 2014, bringing together some of the island’s best and brightest students as they compete by solving mathematics problems.
The competition intends to narrow down Bermuda’s most gifted mathematicians in both middle and high school, promoting the important curriculum in the process. It will be held from 1.00pm through 3.30pm at the Berkeley Institute, with an awards ceremony planned for 6.00pm.
The event website said, “This year promises to be an exciting year for us as we will be celebrating our 10th Annual Math Olympiad on April 27, 2014. We are very anxious and hopeful to see a vast amount of students participating this year and for this to materialize, we rely on the diligence of our schools, teachers and parents to encourage our students to join in on this event.
“This year we have made it very easy for parents to register their students by providing online registration which is accessible anywhere, anytime. If you are interested in signing up your child for this year’s Math Olympiad, please complete the online registration form; registration is now open.
“Since our Math Olympiad is a gateway to broadening the knowledge of Bermuda’s students by challenging their mathematical skills, we see it as being only fair to help our students prepare for such an event.”
To that end, CTY Bermuda has provided aspiring contestants with a series of sample tests intended to help them prepare for the Olympiad and strengthen their math skills in general.
