Shadow Minister Congratulates Energy Student
The Shadow Minister of Workforce Development Rolfe Commissiong expressed his congratulations to Fanaye Broadbelt who recently returned from embarking on an ambitious training initiative in India.
Mr. Commissiong said, “I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Ms. Fanaye Broadbelt who has over the last three months been participating in an International Training Programme at the Central Institute for Rural Electrification in Hyderabad, India. We wish her all the best as she pursues her Masters in Renewable Energy.
“We also take the opportunity to encourage other young Bermudians to follow Ms. Broadbelt’s example and look into the opportunities provided by the unique programme sponsored by the Workforce Development Department and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
“This relationship was first fostered under the Progressive Labour Party Government and we commend the present government for renewing this important partnership with the Indian government.
“Bermuda’s competitiveness in the 21st Century will increasingly depend upon Bermudians receiving the best training available in science, technology, engineering and math. These certification and training programmes provide another critical pathway for our young people to succeed.”
