The meetings offered attendees – all of whom work in the IP industry — with the opportunity to develop and improve inter-relationship skills between in-house and outside counsel.
The abundance of information and advice received from a forum between speakers and attendees was invaluable, Ms Webb said.
Topics such as the – “Do’s and Don’ts of Client Satisfaction: What to do and what not to do] to become and stay Outside Counsel”, “Best Practices and Secrets to Effective Communication for In-House and Outside Counsel”, “Fees and Budges: Can Clients and Outside Counsel Agree?’ and “Ethics – To tell or Not to Tell” provided invaluable experience from panel speakers as well as tips for agents wanting to continually maintain effective and profitable local and international relationships.
Paperless communication, attachment free emails, a solid understanding of each jurisdiction and the importance of delivering according to a client’s needs were among the skills that legal counsel [both in-house and out-house] were encouraged to improve upon.
