DAP Hosts “Then & Now” Fundraising Concert

May 1, 2014

PlayList Management hosted its first Developing Artists Program [DAP] fundraising concert, entitled “Then & Now,” this past Sunday [April 27] at The Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall.

The show featured teenage Bermudian singers, actors, and dancers performing songs from the 1960s to now, and the concert was held in order to provide the young artists with the opportunity to raise funds to travel overseas to receive specialized instruction this summer.

CEO Theresa Minors said, “The concert was an amazing night of wonderful, crowd pleasing performances. The audience was singing along and dancing in the aisle – it was an amazing sight to see.”

The group of artists that participated included public school students ranging in age from 10 to 18 years old.

The performances included a powerful rendition of Mary J Blige’s “I’m Going Down” by Chiante Roberts, The Temptation’s “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” by twins Rashae and Rashaun Bean with Nkosi Hollis, as well as Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative” by Rashae Bean, complete with background dancers.

“The night ended with a powerful message of cooperation and tolerance as the entire group took to the stage to perform Tevin Campbell’s “One Song.”

“We are so proud of all our DAP students,” stated Program Director David Sinclair Minors. “We have received such positive feedback from everyone who attended the concert.

“Special thanks to our corporate sponsors, including Bermuda Cablevision, Flanagan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, and Pepsi Co. Many thanks to all our patrons, our corporate patrons, all those who supported the concert, including Lifestyles Entertainment and Impress for Less and, of course, these amazing performers.”
