Burns Places 3rd In Flyboarding Championships
The Flyboard North American Championships took place this past weekend in Toronto, Canada, with Callon Burns of Bermuda’s Coconut Rockets impressing the judges and making the podium with a third place finish in the competition.
The event — which was the first ever North American Championships — included some of the top flyboarders from around the world, with competitors from nations including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Columbia, Mexico, Spain, and the United States.
In describing Mr. Burns’ performance, Flyboard Magazine said, “Callon Burns [is] not letting the colder water bother this pilot from Bermuda. Amazing combos, double back flip, and tight spins.”
Bermuda’s Callon Burns is shown at the 1.20 mark of the video below:
The event was won by Damone Rippy of Texas, with Jordan Wayment of Utah in second and Bermuda’s Callon Burns in third.
Introduced to the island last year, flyboarding involves an attachment on a jetski that sends the person flying through the air by propelling water through a hose, with advanced flyboarders such as Mr Burns performing a variety of tricks such as backflips and dives.
Coconut Rockets are currently operating out of the west end, with rates starting from $165 for 30 minutes of Flyboard activity.

Wow! Awesome stuff Callon. Just noticed that some of the jet skis were unmanned. Were they controlling the thrust with a hand remote? I can see something in their hand. Wow!
Hi Weldon,
Yeah, Cal flew amazing with Michael Swan as his driver but some of the other competitors were flying with the hand held Electronic Management Kit which allows the flyer to control the throttle themselves. Callon, regardless if you came third, continue to fly high.
