Rogers To Compete In Pan-American Fencing
Arjah Rogers will be competing in the Senior Pan-American Fencing Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica on June 1, 2014.
The 22 year old is currently studying in the UK and has fenced during her time at Keele University, and will be competing in the Women’s Epee category.
Ms Rogers’ coach Travis Stevens said, ““Arjah is one our overseas fencers who has had the added benefit of training with and competing against Europe’s best. A naturally gifted athlete, Arjah is tall and fast; making her an ideal fencing specimen.
“This is Arjah’s first time representing Bermuda internationally and she will be up against a field that includes members of the US Olympic Bronze Medal team. We wish Arjah all the best!”
The Senior Pan-American Championships is contested by Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Boliva, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, the USA, Venezuela, and the Virgin Islands.
