Slideshow: Newport Bermuda Yachts At RBYC
The yachts that took part in the 2014 Newport Yacht Race are starting to fill up the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club in Hamilton, all lined up after completing the grueling ocean crossing.
George Sakellaris’ big white Richel/Pugh mini-maxi Shockwave crossed the finish line off Bermuda’s St. David’s Lighthouse on Monday morning [June 23] in approximately 2 days and 15 hours.
Bella Mente, Hap Fauth’s 72 foot Judel/Vrolijk mini-maxi, followed by seven minutes with her time at 63:11:25, after the two had battled head to head for the 635 mile ocean journey.
Caol Ila R, Alex Schaerer’s 68 foot Mills IRC racer, crossed the line third, some three hours behind Shockwave in 66:03:52.
