BII Partners With Wharton School Of Business

The Bermuda Insurance Institute [BII] has again partnered with the Wharton School of Business in order to offer a Leadership Program aimed at grooming the next generation of Bermuda insurance professionals.

A spokesperson said, “This year there are 19 professionals from 11 different companies participating in the course. Part one of the program was held at the Bermuda Insurance Institute from July 14 through July 18. The second part of the program involves an action learning project.

“Over the next eight weeks, participants will work on their projects and will share their findings at the culminating event, which will take place in September.”

“This year’s program opened with a panel discussion. Participants had the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session with panelists including Kathleen Faries, CEO of Tokio Solution Management Ltd, and Rees Fletcher, Division President Ace Insurance Bermuda Ltd.

“World renowned Wharton faculty members were on the island to provide instruction and facilitate learning. The topics covered this year included Strategic Risk Management: Measuring and Monitoring Risk, Strategic Thinking, Managing in Times of Uncertainty, and Strategic Persuasion.”

BII CEO Dr. Dawnnelle Walker said, “This program continues to be a popular and successful offering in Bermuda, and the BII is pleased to offer a learning opportunity of this caliber to the Bermuda market.”
