Junior Golf Championships 2nd Round Results
Blistery morning winds and rain set the tone for the second round matches on Wednesday at Belmont Hills Golf Club yesterday [July 2]. The steady and level headed defending champion Walker Campbell defeated the long and accurate Arriek Douglas 3&2. Soon to be Troy University freshman Cory DeSilva defeated steady solid ball striker Kheary Swan 6&4.
Mikus Ming defeated number two seed Sam Wehmeyer all square through 18 holes. Both golfers played very well the entire day and put it all out there. On the playoff hole Sam Wehmeyer left the door open with an out of bounds tee shot and allowed Mikus Ming to close the door winning 1up through 19 holes.
The young Alex Mason played a solid round of golf with the hasty conditions defeating Dakota Lamb 6&5. The number one seed Kenny Leseur defeated Joe Watson 5&4. Tyler Emery defeated Luke Watson in a battle to the last hole 1up.
