Russell E. Blunt East Coast Day #1 Results
Bermuda’s athletes competing at the 2014 Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational picked up medals during their first day of competition.
Samuel Darrell from the Bermuda Pacers captured the Gold Medal in the 11-12 Boys High Jump Start with a top leap of 1.45m, Ryan Outerbridge also won a Gold Medal when he won the 11-12 Boys 3000m representing the Bermuda Pacers in a time of 10:43.45.
Flyers runner Messiah Greaves won the 13-14 Girls 3000m Gold Medal with a time of 11:36.98. Jayden Ming won the Bronze Medal during the 13-14 Boys 3000m with a time of 10:26.29 representing the Bermuda Pacers.
Elisha Darrell from the Bermuda Pacers finished 10th in the 15 – 16 Boys Triple Jump Measure with a leap of 11.95m, Malik Joell from the Bermuda Pacers finished 5th in the 13-14 Boys 3000m with a time of 13:16.70.
During the 9-10 Girls 200m Preliminaries Sanaa Rae Morris from the Bermuda Pacers qualified for the finals with a time of 30.84, while Jahstice Grant, also from the Bermuda Pacers ,reached the finals clocking 31.26. Niyan Outerbridge from the Bermuda Pacers clocked 30.52 to qualify for the 9-10 Boys 200 m finals.
Bermuda Pacers runners Taylor Hines, Noah Powell and Danni Watson all qualified for the 11-12 Girls 200m finals, while Corriah Simmons, also from the Bermuda Pacers, finished 10th with a time of 29.69.
These young athletes have put in lots of hard work and it is so great to see them do well. Cal Simons and team are truly awesome coaches and has done us proud. You go PACERS!!!!!
The athletes were so well disciplined which speaks volumes to the quality of the coaches and other volunteers. Well done as all of them worked very hard.
