Ceci Wollmann Finishes 10th Overall in China
Bermuda’s Ceci Wollmann has concluded competing in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, recording a 10th place finish in a field consisting of the best young sailors from around the world.
Competing in the Byte CII Women’s One Person Dinghy Race, Wollmann started the day in 9th place overall after seven races, andwhen the day ended Wollmann finished in 10th place with 72 points.
Wollmann finished 13th in the final race of the regatta, she repeated that position in the second race of the day, Wollmann then closed out the day finishing 13th in the seventh race of the regatta.
The final day of the Youth Olympic Sailing Competition saw the sailors greeted with rain bringing breeze to Lake Jinniu.
Chef-de-Mission Katura Horton Perinchief said, “I am proud of Ceci Wollmann’s 10th place finish in the sailing. Unfortunately the weather conditions worked against her and they weren’t able to get in enough races for her to move up, but what a trooper.”
