Fairmont Southampton’s First Upgrade Phase
The Fairmont Southampton has recently completed the first phase of an $11.5 million renovation of 230 guest rooms and suites, with an additional 172 rooms set to be renovated this winter along with the corridors.
“The entire renovation has been thoughtfully phased and there will be no interruption to guests,” a spokesperson said.
“The guest room renovation includes furniture, fixtures, and equipment. The design scheme features a rich palette of island sophistication, incorporating inspiration from Bermuda’s lush landscape.
“The new guest rooms feature a warm colour scheme with pops of orange, lime and turquoise. The guest rooms and suites are light, bright, and contemporary while still true to the spirit of Bermuda.
“The guest rooms have been thoughtfully appointed to meet the needs of today’s travellers, featuring expansive desks with ergonomic chairs, WIFI, and technology connections for the flat screen televisions.
“The hotel’s WIFI offerings have been increased to cover all of the property, including the beach. All guestrooms feature spacious bathrooms and walk-in closets with built in dressers.
“The renovation in the guest rooms and suites helps to maintain The Fairmont Southampton’s prominent position in Bermuda’s luxury market,” said George Terpilowski, Managing Director of Fairmont Bermuda.
“The new décor reflects the preferences of today’s travellers while maintaining the charm of the resort. This renovation is a demonstration of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts commitment to Bermuda and the future success of its tourism product.”
Parker Torres, a Massachusetts-based interior design and architectural firm specializing in hospitality design, has managed the project. Among other Fairmont projects Parker Torres has managed is the renovation and restoration of Boston’s landmark Fairmont Copley Plaza.
The general contractor on the project is Bermuda-based ECM Services. Additional local contractors include Oceans Interiors, Treecon, Reeves Electric, AnPro, Aptech, Final Cutt, and Lisa’s Eco Painting.
The Fairmont Southampton’s commitment to high-quality service and products has been rewarded with 2014 TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence for the hotel, the Turtle Hill Golf Club, and The Waterlot Inn, which honours the top-performing 10 percent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor. The Waterlot Inn has also been honoured with an AAA 4-diamond award and a Wine Spectator Award. For more information about Fairmont Southampton, please visit fairmont.com/southampton-bermuda.
Very nice. Room looks just like the hilton
Hallejuah!!Finally these hotels upgrade to the 21st century! For too long, they have been charging $500-600 a night for old-fashioned and just ordinary-looking rooms. Hopefully they don’t charge Tuckers’ rates to offset their renovation costs….
Hilton! Are you being sarcastic?
