BFRS Set To Recognize Fire Safety Week

On November 3, 2014, beginning at 10.00am, Fire Safety Awareness Week 2014 will begin with an opening ceremony in the Hamilton Fire Station Recreation Hall.

Proceedings that day will include an introduction by Deputy Chief Fire Officer Dana Lovell and a welcoming speech by Chief Fire Officer Lloyd Burchall.

A spokesperson said, “CFO is inviting the Premier of Bermuda and Minister of National Security, Michael Dunkley, for a short speech and reading of the Proclamation to officially open Fire Safety Awareness Week. In closing, we will be inviting guests to tour the displays.

“There will be guided tours of the displays and activities with the Chief Fire Officer and Distinguished guests.

“Activities on Tuesday, November 4 through November 6 will include guided tours at all three fire stations, as well as a fire safety show at the Hamilton Station only.

“On November 7, Fire Safety Week will end with a closing ceremony that will begin at 4.00pm.”
