Imagine Bermuda To Host Lessons From Storms
In an effort to further promote that sense of appreciation throughout our island after the Thanksgiving Gathering at City Hall last week, Imagine Bermuda have a two-pronged follow up with the theme of ‘Drawing the Lessons from the Storms’.
A spokesperson said, “On Thursday, November 6th at 1 pm, we are encouraging residents from Fort St. Catherine’s to Dockyard to Pause for One Minute, for Reflection.
“We’re inviting residents throughout the island, to take 60 seconds to consider the massive threat we all faced and survived together; and through collaboration, we have speedily moved towards renewal.
“Pausing together will remind us that ‘we’re all in the same boat’ and vulnerable to storms. However, it is evident that by pulling together, we can overcome significant challenges.
“In addition, on that same date – November 6th – we are holding a Roundtable Discussion from 11.30 am to 1 pm at Cathedral Hall on Church Street. The theme is ‘Drawing the Lessons from the Storms’. The Discussion will begin with nutshell presentations – each for 5 minutes – by four well-known panellists:
- Bishop Nicholas Dill – Anglican Church
- Martha Dismont – The Family Centre
- Gavin Smith – Chewstick
- Rev. Nicholas Tweede – St. Paul AME
[The panellists will not be representing their identified organizations, but sharing their personal views]
“The concept of the Roundtable allows those attending, an opportunity to participate in a deeper collective reflection on the challenges that we have recently faced. The goal is to identify those lessons that have been surfaced by that crisis, which can be useful for our Island as we move forward through further ‘storms’ that we will no doubt experience.”
