Basketball: Hawks, Fly Girls, Rockers, Kings Win
The CellOne Island Basketball League continued inside the Cedarbridge Academy Gymnasium this weekend with both a women’s and men’s double-header.
Lady Hawks defeated the Pink Panthers 15 – 14, Jamila Godwin scored 5 points to lead the Lady Hawks to victory, while Shanay Scott scored a game high 6 points for the Pink Panthers.
The second women’s game of the night saw the Fly Girls remain undefeated with a 28 -21 win over the Court Queens. Dee Trew scored a game high 10 points for the Fly Girls, while Kashintae Fox and Simona Pitcher both scored 8 points for the Court Queens.
In the first men’s division match, the Rim Rockers defeated Sky Force 57 -52. Ronald Busher scored a game high 18 points for the Rim Rockers, while Markus Robinson scored 17 points for the Sky Force.
The Court Kings defeated Crossfire 54 – 53. Jason Simons scored a game high 22 points for the Court Kings, while Misheal Paynter scored 16 points for Crossfire.
