Bermuda Bowling Team Compete In Abu Dhabi

istatsbowl141207.jpgThe Bermuda National Bowling team began taking part in the World Bowling Championships in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates.

Bermuda’s bowling team got off to a slow start in the singles event with Damien Matthews having the highest finish out of the 273 bowlers from 52 countries participating.

Matthews placed 62nd with a score of 1261 and a 210.17 average. He was followed by David Maycock 109th, 1221, 203.50 average, Rickai Binns 140th, 1198, 199.67 average, Jermaine DeSilva 168th, 1172, 195.33 average, Lamar Richardson 219th place, 1100, 183.3 average and Delmont Tucker 258th 1025, 170.3 average.

The singles event Gold Medal was won by Canada’s Dan MacLelland who defeated home country favorite Shaker Al- Hassan of the UAE 256 to 212. The Bronze Medal went to team USA Tommy Jones who lost to MacLelland 269 – 236.
