Bermuda’s December Social Media Rankings

December 21, 2014

[Written by Don Burgess] There was a flood of changes in this month’s Klout rankings.

Klout measures a person or organization’s social media influence on a scale of 1 to 100 over a variety of platforms, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Instagram.

A total of 11 new entries helped push the minimum Klout score to make the Bermuda Top 50 list to 59. Commentator Thomas Famous is the highest newcomer with a score of 69. Other newcomers almost cracking the Top 10 include Janson Cross, Jamel Hardtman, Senator Diallo Rabain and Kennette Burgess.

Fox commentator and former WWE champ John Layfield remains on top of the ranking at number 1. Mr Layfield, who owns a house in Bermuda, helped found Beyond Rugby in Bermuda and is doing the Seven Summits Challenge to raise money for The Family Center. In additional, on Fox’s Bulls and Bears on Saturdays, Mr. Layfield can be seen with a Bermuda background as he makes his financial analysis.

Musicians Collie Buddz and Heather Nova remain tied for second.

Continuing its rise up the social media influence charts is the Bermuda Tourism Authority. They are fourth this week and were featured in a New York Times earlier this month about how they are using social media as a way to get the word out about the island.
