Warwick Academy Breaks Ground On Cottage
Warwick Academy said they are pleased to have broken ground this week on Cambrae Cottage, the site of the new Reception Year Programme.
“The new Reception Year for 4 year olds at Warwick Academy will open in September of 2015. This initiative is the realization of many years of thought and planning on behalf of the schools Strategic Team and Board of Governors at Warwick Academy. 32 places have been offered and accepted into the new programme,” a school spokesperson said.
“This new initiative has evolved in order to introduce 4 year olds to the ethos of the Warwick Academy family and to give the students access to the teaching and facilities that Warwick has to offer. The emphasis is placed on hands on active learning both inside and outside that will prepare the children for moving into Year 1.
“In addition they will be introduced to elements of modern foreign languages, music and PE with specialist input. The new programme will be staffed by 4 early year’s specialist teachers in a newly renovated facility in a garden setting on the school grounds.
“We are very grateful to The Bank of Bermuda Foundation for investing in the teacher training aspect of our programme.”
