Man Admits Fleeing Airport, Jumping Overboard
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 27], a 21-year-old man admitted running away from Customs and jumping overboard.
Hamilton Parish resident Luke Lindo pleaded guilty and admitted that in December 2014 he had run from a Customs officer, out of the airport building, jumped overboard, and swam to the area of Grotto Bay Hotel.
Mr Lindo hid out, and then turned himself in to police.
The evidence offered by the Prosecutor was that Bermuda Customs had been alerted to Mr Lindo and were in the process of organizing a detailed personal search of Mr Lindo’s baggage and his body.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered a Social Inquiry Report and set sentencing for March 2015. Mr Londo was granted $3,000 bail with one Surety.
