Police Appeal: Locate 84 Year Old [Found]

The police are appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 84 year old Henry Smith, who was last seen around 3pm yesterday [Jan 8].

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 84 year old Henry Smith, who was apparently last seen around 3pm Thursday, January 8th and subsequently reported missing at 6:45pm that same day.”

“‎Mr. Smith is described as brown complexioned, 5’4″ tall, with a bald head and moustache.

“The senior citizen was last seen at his My Lord’s Bay Road, Hamilton parish residence Thursday afternoon wearing khaki coloured pants, a long sleeved red shirt and white sneakers. It is believed that he was also wearing a light blue jacket,” continued the police spokesperson.

“In addition, Mr. Smith is known to frequent the Bailey’s Bay, Hamilton parish area – particularly around Clay Town and the Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club.

“Searches have been conducted overnight by police officers patrolling the eastern parishes without success; however efforts continue to locate the 84 year old Hamilton parish man.

“Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of 84 year old Henry Smith should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

Update 11.07am: Just as the police were about to begin a press conference about this — word came that Mr. Smith has been located.

Update 12.15pm: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 84 year old Henry Smith.

“Mr. Smith was found in the My Lord’s Bay, Hamilton parish area around 11am today. He appeared to be uninjured, but it is anticipated that he will be medically assessed at the hospital as a precaution.”

    I pray that Mr. Smith is found safe and sound.. Mr. Smith is from the same area as my family and i and we see him everyday and found it strange that we didnt see him yesterday.. I pray for strength for his as well as his family. I personally we be on the look out for him.. Mr. Smith come home your family needs you..

      I live in the area as well. I usually see him when I leave for work taking his stroll. Hope he is found safe.

    Hope he is ok, do we have any dogs here trained to search for people, or is it just drug dogs?
