No Significant Anti-Social Behaviour On NYE
The Bermuda Police Service thanked the public for their cooperation during New Year’s Eve holiday, saying that “no significant occurrences of anti-social behaviour” were reported.
A police spokesperson said, “Over the holiday, police officers arrested two people for impaired driving and continued to enforce the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme [STEP].
“Officers also arrested seven people for outstanding warrants, and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
“The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their cooperation during the New Year’s celebrations throughout the island as there were no significant occurrences of anti-social behaviour reported during the holiday.”
The holiday was however marred with the deaths of two men following traffic collisions; 19-year-old Stephen Edwards died following a motorcycle collision, while a two-vehicle collision claimed the life of 62-year-old Timothy Wright.
