Football: Grenada Accepts Invite From Bermuda
The Grenada Football Association has accepted an invitation from the Bermuda Football Association to play in Bermuda next month.
According to a post on the GFA website, “The request which was made to the Association’s President, Mr. Cheney Joseph, is geared towards assisting in the Teams’ readiness for the World Cup Qualifier Round.
“Mr. Joseph expressed that the Association is working on various avenues to improve on the performance of the players for the World Cup Qualifier round and other competitions expected to take place this year.
“The team is set to travel and play in Bermuda during the period 4th-9th March.”
With soooo many families in need of assistance how can the One Bermuda Alliance Party justify spending countless dollars on this event? Neither team are capable of advancing in World Cup competition so who will be benefiting here other than them traveling to Bermuda, (if not mistaken)at our expense
I’m sure the BFA has funds other then Government grants they receive for this trip. Furthermore, it’s an investment into the lads. They maybe scouted by college coaches or even pro scouts during these games. Football is the only sport on the island that consistently advance our players via college/ pros.
Before you start shooting down things, maybe you should get your facts correct. OBA is not putting a red cent towards this event. In fact if you read back on previous articles you will note that FIFA gave Bermuda money towards their preparations for their World Cup Qualifying games. Instead of being a naysayer come out and support these boys as they will need their country behind them.
That is the problem with many Bermudians. So quick to be negative instead of encouraging and supporting our own. Lack of country pride something you see many other countries have whether their team wins or loses!!!!!!!!!!!
Tired of all the negativity!!!!!!!!!!!
