Nahki Wells Looks Forward To Saturday’s Game
Speaking about his being sent-off in the game against Millwall, Bermudian striker Nahki Wells said, “I think everyone thinks it wasn’t a second booking. That’s gone now – there’s nothing I can do about it – and I’m champing at the bit.”
Wells, making his 50th Huddersfield Town appearance, in the match with Millwall, was sent off shortly after the game’s second half got underway.
Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell later said, “Nahki is enthusiastic; he wants goals and he wants to play. You can’t take that away from him, because that’s the Nahki Wells we’ve come to know and love.
“I think the second yellow card was ludicrous.”
A report on the Huddersfield website says, “The last three games have been immensely frustrating for Town’s top scorer Nahki Wells – and he’s looking to make amends at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.
“The striker has been restricted to just 61 minutes of football in Town’s last 270 minutes of action due to injury and suspension.”
Wells said, “Hopefully I will be picked to play on Saturday. We’re playing a team that everyone wants to play against; you want to do your best against the best sides. If we can go away from home and beat one of the best teams in the league, it gives you the belief you can beat anyone.”
Hudderfield Town is set to face promotion-chasing AFC Bournemouth in an away game on Saturday [Feb 14].
The game at the Goldsands Stadium will be Town’s third in just eight days, with more midweek games on the way – something Wells is relishing.
“Some players like playing Tuesday then Saturday as they don’t particularly love to train, but I’ve changed my attitude towards training over the last couple of months and I’ve seen the benefits of it in my performances”, Wells said.
“We have a tough period coming up now, but every team in the league is in a similar predicament. This a great time to go on a run, but if you lose a game you get the chance to bounce back in a few days. I’m confident we can do well.”
I’m confident to Nahki! furby and I are glad your feeling better,,all the best hope you get picked!
Lord, that was a terrible call by the referee. Here’s hoping Wells bounces back and makes an impact in the weekend’s match.
