The Bermuda Weather Service has issued a Gale Warning valid to tonight, a Thunderstorm Advisory valid through Thursday morning, and a Small Craft Warning valid through Thursday.
A government spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Weather Service [BWS] has advised this afternoon that there is currently a warm water eddy in our area with elevated sea heights of 30cm, which is roughly 1 foot above normal.
“As a note, tomorrow morning’s 8.30am high tide coincides with a period of forecast heavy rainfall – thus combined with the added influence of the warm water eddy – those places that usually flood [Mills creek, Bakery Lane, waterside grass verge of Kindley Field Road etc] may be severely affected tomorrow morning.
“The public will be aware that the month of February has seen considerably intemperate weather, and residents are encouraged to stay abreast of local weather updates from the BWS. Updates and advisories can be followed online via www.weather.bm and on CableVision Ch. 4 or WOW Ch. 100.”
