Wind, Rain & Lightning Cause Power Outages
In addition to causing flooding across the island, the inclement weather conditions have also resulted in a number of power outages in areas including Southampton, St. David’s and Government House.
A BELCO spokesperson said, “Following are the outages that have occurred to this hour, as a result of wind, rain and lightning since yesterday. We thank customers for their patience, as BELCO crews work through the stormy weather.”

5:13 PM – Lighthouse/St. Anne’s Road – 13 customers – restoration time: 54 mins
6:15 PM – Admiralty – 20 customers – restoration time: 1 hr 8 mins
9:18 PM – NAS St.David’s/Stokes Pt – 14 customers – restoration time: 2 hrs 2 mins
9:56 PM – Camp Hill – 383 customers – restoration time: 1 hr 36 mins
9:56 PM – Southampton/Scenic Heights – 720 customers – restoration time: 1 hr 1 min
10:18 PM – Parsons Lane – 24 customers – restoration time: 8 hrs 56 mins [underground work required]
10:18 PM – Govt. House & cottage – 2 customers – restoration time: 4 hrs 4 mins [underground work required]
