BVA To Host Volleyball Tournament On June 13

May 30, 2015

The Bermuda Volleyball Association [BVA] will be hosting its first beach volleyball tournament of the 2015 season, returning to Horseshoe Bay Beach.

“Horseshoe is without a doubt one of the world’s premier beaches,” said Ariel Mierzejewski, Co-President of the BVA. “I couldn’t possibly think of a better place on the planet to play the Makin’ Waves beach volleyball tournament.”

The tournament, which will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 9.30am, will feature co-ed 4-on-4 and 2-on-2 teams competing for prizes provided by Makin’ Waves, Bermuda’s largest surf shop with locations in Hamilton and the Royal Naval Dockyard.

“We’re so pleased to have Makin’ Waves back as our title sponsor,” said Mierzejewski. “For beach apparel, board shorts and even stand up paddle boards, there’s no better place to shop on the island.”

Teams interested in playing are urged to sign up for the tournament as soon as possible, since registration closes on June 4. The cost is $160 for a team of four and $80 for a team of two, which includes lunch and drinks for the day, although the BVA recommends that teams competing in the tournament bring extra water.

Individuals can also sign up for the opportunity to be placed on a mixed team of four co-ed players.
