Open Ship Event Aboard SSV ‘Corwith Cramer’
An upcoming “open ship event” will give the public the opportunity to board and tour the SSV Corwith Cramer, a 134-foot dual-mast brigantine owned and operated by American firm Sea Education Association.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, May 8 from 3.00pm to 6.00pm at Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s.
The event poster says, “You’re invited to visit the SSV Corwith Cramer, a 134-foot, dual-mast brigantine owned and operated by Sea Education Association of Woods Hole, Massachusetts, USA.
“The ship currently serves as home, office and laboratory for more than 30 crewmembers, including 20 undergraduate students studying abroad with SEA Semester®.
“Alongside professional researchers, the students have been investigating the biodiversity of and conservation efforts within the Sargasso Sea region.
“The ship’s arrival in Bermuda marks the midway point of a sailing voyage that began April 20 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and will continue to New York City.”
