Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon This Saturday
The 27th Annual Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon and Carnival is this Saturday, June 20 at Clearwater Beach. Kids ages 3 – 15 are invited to participate in the event for a chance to swim, bike and run to win the competition. Kids competing in the 11-15 category can compete to win up to $1,000 in scholarship funds.
How to Register
Registration ends Friday, June 19 at 6pm, and is capped at 400 participants. Online registration is available at www.clarienironkids.com. Registration for Tiny Tots, ages 3-6 is $8. Registration for all other participants, ages 7-15 is $15. Final registration closes at 6 pm on Friday, 19 June [or once the maximum capacity of 400 registrants has been reached].
Race Details – The Triathlon race categories are as follows:
- Boys & Girls [Ages 11-15]
- 200 meter swim
- 5 mile bike
- 1 mile run
Boys & Girls [Ages 7-10]
- 100 meter swim
- 2.5 mile bike
- 0.5 mile run
Tiny Tots [Ages 3-6]
- 10 meter swim
- 250 meter bike
- 50 meter run
All participants must be ages 3 to 15 on December 31, 2015. Children turning 7 or 11 before December 31 will be required to register in the next age group category.
Clarien Iron Kids Account
The Clarien Iron Kids Account is a youth savings account designed to enhance the financial outlook and teach the basics of banking to kids and teenagers from birth to 18 years of age.

Free Family Carnival
In addition to the Triathlon events, the community is invited to the free family carnival, which consists of a
children’s zip line, an interactive castle, water tag, a water slide and face painting. Food-for-purchase will be
available from vendors such as Ashley’s Lemonade, DeGraff’s, Brown’s Finger Lickin, Bermy Snow, Sensational Delights and Grillin Stix.
Charity Raffle
A charity raffle benefiting the Bermuda Triathlon Association will take place on event day. Tickets for the raffle are $3 and are only sold on-site for a chance to win the following prizes.

Road Closures
For the safety of the youth participating in the event, please be advised of traffic interruptions in the Clearwater Beach area during the Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon from 2:30pm – 5pm. Traffic will be re-routed as needed to avoid the triathlon route. Traffic will be diverted through the Clearwater Beach car park then back onto Cooper’s Island Road for motorists traveling to Gombey’s restaurant, Turtle Beach, Cooper’s Island reserve and under supervision from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. Children will be running a road race into the Cooper’s Island Reserve. Convenient parking will be available to event participants and spectators. The understanding of area businesses and the public is appreciated.
