1st Annual Middle School Pageant On June 20th
Bermuda’s middle schools will be staging the first annual Middle School Inter-School Academic/Sports Pageant this upcoming weekend, June 20, at the Berkeley Institute auditorium.
The mission of the pageant is to highlight Bermuda’s outstanding middle school scholar athletes. They will be competing in four categories, including sportswear, evening wear, talent, and a question and answer segment that will see participants answer a sports related question.
In the end, winners will be crowned Mr. & Miss. Middle School Scholar Athlete.
Female contestants include Kanzi Emery [Gymnastics – Clearwater], Izeya Wainwright [Basketball – Whitney Institute], Kelly Trott [Equestrian – Dellwood], Nabillah Nasir [Netball – T.N. Tatem], and Anushka Jayathunga [Tennis – Sandys Secondary].
Male contestants include Iyuan Smith [Cricket - Clearwater], Kearje Davis [Track & Field - Whitney Institute], Quadre Emery [Boxing – Dellwood], Rayquon Woodley-Smith [Baseball – T.N. Tatem], and Jayden Ebbin [Soccer – Sandys Secondary].
The Middle School Sports Pageant, staged under the patronage of Mr. & Mrs. Livingston Tuzo, will begin at 7.00pm at the Berkeley Institute auditorium. Tickets for the event are available from all contestants and middle schools.

While it is very nice to recognize and celebrate our top young athletes, IMO the students who REALLY need to be recognized are those who may not be academically or athletically gifted, but ALWAYS, ALWAYS do their BEST in every endeavour and exhibit exceptional SPORTSMANSHIP & CITIZENSHIP everyday not matter what.
Ahh, Private schools are not included?
Well, there aren’t any private ‘Middle schools’ in the first place, heh.

@huh The Department of Child and Family Services for the past 10 years hosts an Outstanding Citizenship Ceremony every November to give honor to students across the islands schools who display exemplary citizenship.
