Vehicle Fire In Paget, Driver Escapes Unharmed
At 7:52am this morning [July 15] the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a confirmed vehicle fire on Southcote Road in Paget.
Fire Service spokesperson, Acting Lieutenant Jamal Albuoy said, “BFRS responded to the incident with one appliance from our Port Royal Station and four personnel. On arrival, it was discovered that the engine compartment area of the vehicle was involved with fire.
“Firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus manned with a fire hoseline quickly extinguished the blaze. It is understood that the driver noticed smoke emitting from the vehicle while driving and made his escape unharmed prior to the front end becoming fully involved.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation,” Mr Albuoy added.
This was the second fire the BRFS responded to this morning, following after the brush fire at the Marsh Folly Horticultural Waste Depot at around 4.00am today.
