Photos: Streetwise Programme Class Graduation
The Bermuda College Division Of Professional and Career Education hosted the first local graduating class of the StreetWise MBA™ Programme yesterday [July 28] at the HSBC Harbourview Building on Front Street.
The graduates included Herbie Alves, Jahnika Alves, Natalie Bennett, Doyle Butterfield, Elaine Butterfield, Gina Cardell-Naranjo, Felica DeRoza, Mary Jo Farrow, Alfonso Harris, Roseann Harris, Deryn Higgins, Stacy Hill, Kareem Johnson, Stuart McIntosh, Charles O’Brien, Kenneth Pemberton, Dwain Smith, and Randy Spence.
“Bermuda is the only international partner of this programme, which is based at Boston University,” a college spokesperson said. “There were 18 graduate entrepreneurs who have learned over the last seven months how to make their businesses not just resilient, but thrive.
“It’s an incredible curriculum at $20,000 per student, underwritten 95% by HSBC, the Bank of Bermuda Foundation and Atlantic Philanthropies Bermuda, Ltd.”

The evening got underway with opening remarks by Philip Butterfield, Director of the Bank of Bermuda Foundation, followed by a Congratulatory Message offered by Bernard Johnson, Director of Programmes, Interise.
The event’s guest speaker was Daren Bascome, a Streetwise MBA graduate and the founder and managing director of Proverb. Mr. Bascome’s speech was followed by the Presentation of Certificates.
Graduate Speaker Elaine Butterfield offered her thoughts on the day, with Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Mark Van Den Hende providing closing remarks.
