Jesse Washington Wins Gold, Breaks Record
Bermudian swimmer Jesse Washington returned home following the 2015 Canadian Age Group Championships in Quebec City, where he won the 200m freestyle gold medal in record setting style — marking the first ever gold medal Bermuda has won at the Canadian Age Group Championships.
Continuing his streak from two years ago when he won Bermuda’s first ever medals at these Championships, the young swimmer powered home to touch the wall first in 1:55.41, which was also an age group and Bermuda record.
