Bermuda’s Trey Tucker Scores For WJ University

September 7, 2015

Bermuda’s Trey Tucker helped lead his Wheeling Jesuit University [WJU] men’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over Seton Hill in their season opener on September 3, with Bermudian Kieran Joynes also on the roster for the WJU Cardinals.

The WJU Athletics website says, “On the match’s second shot, Danny Undreiner booted the season’s first score from the top of the box at 8:25. WJU was not finished in the opening half as Trey Tucker beat both the Seton Hill defender and goalie and connected on the second goal for a 2-0 lead 14:32 into the game.”

“It was a great team win. The guys had a great first half as we pressure them constantly,” said WJU head coach James Regan.

“We got two great finishes from Danny Undreiner and Trey Tucker in the first half and played solid defense in the second half to steal the win.”

“Along with Undreiner and Tucker’s shots on goal, Brent Pedlow added three and Vince Faraji one to complete the team’s shots on net.

“This road win against a good team will give us confidence to build on,” said Regan.

“WJU finishes the tough first week of road contests on Sunday. The Cardinals play at the Rams of Philadelphia University in a noon match.”
