Devwah Whaley Named Football Player Of Week
After rushing for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries during his team’s recent 35-21 win over Goose Creek Memorial, Bermudian Devwah Whaley has been named the Player of the Week for his American football prowess.
The young running back, currently a grade 12 student, offered his thoughts on the distinction, saying, “My offensive line most importantly and my teammates period. They opened things up for me to perform.
“I’m capable of doing it every game. It comes down to when we play as a team. I couldn’t do it without my teammates.
Whaley goes on to name his favourite food as shrimp and his favourite movie as Avengers: Age of Ultron.
When asked where he saw himself in 10 years, the athlete said, “I plan on being in the NFL.”
