Premier, First & Corona Division Football Results
Flanagan’s Onions, Somerset Trojans, West End United, Butterfield & Vallis, St. David’s, BAA, Paget Lions, Devonshire Colts, and Dandy Town Hornets all walked away with wins in this weekend’s Premier Division, First Division and Corona League football action.
First Division: Ireland Rangers 1 – St. George’s Colts 1
At the Somerset Cricket Club, Ireland Rangers took the lead in the 24th minute when Sekai Proctor found the back of the net, however the St. George’s Colts drew level in the 47th minute when David Signor scored, neither team would find the back of the for the remainder of the game as they shared the points.
First Division: Flanagan’s Onions 3 – X-Road’s 1
At the BAA Field, the Flanagan Onions moved to the top of the First Division standings following this 3 – 1 win over X-Road’s. Clinton Hayward scored the lone goal for X-Road’s.
Premier Division: Somerset Trojans 1 – Hamilton Parish 0
The Somerset Trojans took a 1 – 0 lead to the break after Jonathan Bean found the back of the net in the 43rd minute. the second half of the game drew a blank as the Somerset Trojans picked up the 1 – 0 win and moved up to third in the table, Hamilton Parish remain in 9th.
Corona League: West End United 3 – Lock & Key 2
West End United got single strikes from Lamaul Crofton, Dylan DeSilva and Marquez Laws in their 3 – 2 win over Lock & Key who got two goals from Chris Anderson.
Corona League: Butterfield & Vallis 3 – Tuff Dogs 2
Butterfield & Vallis defeated Tuff Dogs 3 – 2, Dennis Russell scored twice for Butterfield & Vallis, while Lashun Dill added the other. The Tuff Dogs got goals from Malcolm Hewey and Kevin Hurdle.
First Division: St. David’s 2 – Somerset Eagles 0
At Lord’s in St. David’s, the home team went back to the top of the First Division Standings following this 2 – 0 win over the Somerset Eagles. The game was two minutes old when Jerome Usher scored from close range. James Pace doubled the lead when he found the back of the net in the 56th minute.
First Division: BAA 7 – Wolves 1
BAA wanted to send a message to the First Division teams challenging for promotion that they too are serious, following this 7 – 1 win over Wolves. BAA got two goals from LaQuan Thomas and Jahkari Furbert, while Zeon Robinson, Derrick Brangman and Matthew Lampip all added a goal each. Marcus Astwood scored the lone goal for Wolves.
First Division: Paget Lions 2 – Young Men Social Club 1
At the Southampton Oval, the Paget Lions picked up their first win of the season and inflicted the second consecutive defeat of the season for Young Men Social Club. Y-Ron Astwood found the back of the net twice for the Paget Lions, while Robert Rawlins scored the lone goal for Young Men Social Club after he followed up on a saved penalty kick.
Premier Division: Southampton Rangers 2 – North Village Rams 2
At the Southampton Oval, the Southampton Rangers and the North Village Rams ended 2 – 2. The visiting North Village Rams got a goal from Pierre Smith and an own goal, while Jesse Seymour scored twice for the home team Southampton Rangers.
Premier Division: Devonshire Colts 2 – PHC Zebras 1
At the Police Field, the PHC took the lead in the 24th minute when Cecoy Robinson scored, they would hold that lead until the 63rd minute when Ryan Purnell equalized converting from the penalty spot, Kyle Jones scored what proved to be the winner in the 80th minute.
Premier Division: Dandy Town Hornets 4 – Boulevard Blazers 0
At the St. John’s, the Dandy Town Hornets defeated the Boulevard Blazers 4 – 0. After a scoreless first half, Dominique Lambert recorded a hat-trick with goals in the 73rd, 87th and 90th minutes, while Angelo Simmons scored in the 81st minute via the penalty spot.
Premier Division: Robin Hood 0 – Devonshire Cougars 0
The Devonshire Cougars picked up their first point of the season with this 0 – 0 draw with Robin Hood at BAA Field.
