Jalen Harvey scores Bermuda November 2015Bermuda’s Jalen Harvey has scored twice for DePaul University in two recent games, including recording his first Big East playoff goal.

Harvey scored in DePaul’s 3-0 victory over Marquette in their regular-season finale at Wish Field, with the three points in the standings sending DePaul into the Big East Championship tournament.

Speaking after that match, Harvey said, “It’s unbelievable we are going to the Big East playoffs for the first time in my four years here. And especially since we had such a rough start to the season.”

DePaul then took on Xavier in their first Big East playoff game since 2011, where they wound up falling 2-1 to Xavier, with Harvey scoring the lone goal for DePaul.

The school’s match report said, “Simon Megally made a run up the middle of XU Soccer Complex pitch and found Jalen Harvey in full stride on the left wing. Harvey blasted a shot into the center of the net in the 15th minute for a 1-0 Blue Demon lead.

“That was Harvey’s third goal of the season and the second since shifting from the back line to left midfielder last month. Xavier continued getting ball inside and near the box and found the equalizer in the 31st minute on a shot by Walker Andriot into the lower right of the DePaul net.

“The Musketeers once again swarmed in the Blue Demon box early in the second half, resulting in Alex Ridsdale’s header goal in the 48th minute for a 2-1 lead.”

This was DePaul’s seventh appearance in the Big East Championship, with Harvey scoring his first Big East playoff goal.
