Video: Coast Guard Medevac Cruise Passenger

The Coast Guard medevaced a 63-year-old woman off the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship on Monday, after receiving reports that she was suffering from chest pains.

“Sector North Carolina watch standers received a report at 7:30 a.m. that a woman aboard the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship was suffering from chest pains,” the Coast Guard said.

“At 8:13 a.m., an HH-60T Medium Range Recovery Helicopter crew launched from Air Station Elizabeth City to medevac the injured woman. The helicopter crew arrived on scene at 8:40 a.m. and transferred the woman, her husband and a nurse to the helicopter.

“The helicopter crew arrived at 9:47 a.m at the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head where the woman was transferred to awaiting EMS personnel.”
