Results: Union Wins Women’s Futsal Tournament
The pre-season Bermuda Futsal Federation Women’s Futsal Tournament was held at the CedarBridge Academy Gym recently with Union narrowly defeated Shooting Stars in the final.
Game 1:
Union FC defeated Shooting Stars 9 to 7. A very entertaining game saw both teams battle and at the end of the first half Union led 5 to 4. Symira Lowe-Darrell was the most outstanding player of the game scoring 4 of Union’s goals. Shuntae Todd was high scorer for Shooting Stars with 4 goals.
Game 2: Semi-Final:
Shooting Stars narrowly defeated the young Dandy Stars 10 to 9. Shooting Stars jumped out to an early lead and at the half were up 5 to 2. Dandy Stars roared back in the second half scoring 7 goals, but were unable to overcome a determined Shooting Stars who scored 5 goals. Shontae Campbell was most outstanding player of the game scoring 3 goals.
Game 3: Final:
Union narrowly defeated Shooting Stars 2 to 1, in a game that was a contrast to the 2 teams earlier match. Both teams defended well with Shooting Stars using a high pressure game strategy which appeared to work for most of the game against the Union players. Aaliyah Nolan was the most outstanding player of the game, scoring 2 goals for Union, with Dante Allen scoring the 1 goal for Shooting Stars.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Futsal Federation will be having an All-Star Select game at the CedarBridge Academy Gym on 3 January, 2016 starting at 5 pm. All are welcome to watching this exciting game of football featuring the best women players in Bermuda.”
