Police Traffic Advisory For Christmas Day Event

December 24, 2015

Large crowds of people are expected to make their way to Elbow Beach in Paget to celebrate Christmas tomorrow [Dec 25] and police are advising the public not to park along the roadside or block the entrance to Elbow Beach and surrounding properties, as police will be making frequent patrols in the area and offending vehicles will be ticketed.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service recognizes that on Christmas Day a number of the island residents converge on Elbow Beach for festive celebrations.

“This results in vehicles being illegally parked on South Road and surrounding areas causing major traffic delays and safety hazards. In addition, it inhibits the response time of emergency vehicles attending possible life threatening incidents.

“We are strongly advising motorists not to park along the roadside or block the entrance to Elbow Beach and surrounding properties, as police will be making frequent patrols in the area and offending vehicles will be ticketed.

“We would also like to encourage motorists to take advantage of the free parking kindly offered by The Coral Beach on the Horizons property, or the St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Middle Road.”
