Bermudian Named On Forbes ’30 Under 30’ List

Bermudian Anna Mackenzie and her business partner Lucy Wright have been named to the 2016 Forbes Europe ‘30 under 30’ list in the retail and e-commerce category thanks to their efforts under the growing Cuckoo food brand.

Forbes has been highlighting top entrepreneurs under the age of 30 in the United States for five years and decided to highlight the top entrepreneurs in Europe in 2016.

Ms. Mackenzie and Ms. Wright say they were “honoured” to have been included in the Forbes list for 2016, with Ms. Mackenzie saying, “The nomination came as a bit of a surprise and we are really excited to be recognised by Forbes.

“We have worked really hard to establish Cuckoo as an exciting new food brand in the United Kingdom and it is always good the get recognition.”

“There are a number of young Bermudians making their mark on the international stage and I would encourage all young Bermudians to pursue their dreams and aspirations as we have done.”

Founded in the UK in 2013, Cuckoo has been making steady progress in the UK food market, with listings in a number of locations including Tesco, Waitrose, and online grocer Ocado. Cuckoo is a healthy ‘grab and go’ muesli bowl based on recipes inspired by Ms. Mackenzie’s mother, Lorna Mackenzie.

Ms. Mackenzie and Ms. Wright were also finalists in the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year awards for 2015 in the Start Up category.
