Blue Ferry Route Suspended Due To Weather
[Updated] The Department of Marine & Ports Services has suspended the blue route ferry service between Hamilton and Dockyard due to inclement weather, and said “the suspension of service will remain in effect until conditions improve.”
The Bermuda Weather Service has issued a Gale Warning valid for this morning through this afternoon, and then valid for late tonight through Saturday morning, and their forecast says, “A cold front to the near west moves through this afternoon.
“Occasional showers with heavy rain at times will ease to a few showers late tonight. Strong to gale force southwesterly winds with storm force gusts ease rapidly light to moderate northwesterly Saturday afternoon. Conditions improve with light winds and mainly dry days from Saturday night.”
Update 4.43pm: An update from a Department of Marine & Ports Services spokesperson said, “The public is advised that the Department of Marine & Ports Services has suspended the blue route ferry service between Hamilton and Dockyard due to inclement weather.
“The commuter Green route will operate at 5:20pm & 6:20pm to Rockaway, Cavello Bay and Watford Bridge.
“The Pink route services are operating to schedule.”

Is the rockaway ferry still running or has that been suspended?
Fantastic news, navigating through 15 foot seas is much safer than worrying about being swamped by a ferry leaving Darrells Wharf.
