BPO: Mail Delivery Affected By “Labour Dispute”
The Bermuda Post Office advised residents of HS01 and HS02 that there will be no mail delivery while they “await the resolution of an ongoing labour dispute” with the BIU, and asked residents to collect their mail from the Crawl Post Office.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Post Office [BPO] wishes to advise residents of HS01 and HS02 that there will be no mail delivery whilst we await the resolution of an ongoing labour dispute with the Bermuda Industrial Union that has also halted delivery to residents of SN01 and SN02.
“The BPO regrets this inconvenience but asks residents in HS01 and HS02 to collect their mail from the Crawl Post Office, whilst we await the resolution of this labour dispute.
“The BPO wishes to thank the public for its patience, support and understanding in this matter.”
Way to go BIU!!! Keep your nonsense going until we can justify shutting the whole postal service down, for the life of me I cannot understand why they can’t understand the fact that their jobs in the postal service is nothing but a drain on our TAX $$$$!! I say privatize the postal operation and FIRE everyone of the BIU postal workers!!!! They obviously don’t appreciate their jobs anyway???

I’m thinking you dont get mail service by our great Postal Workers, so maybe you should just go and check your computer for your mail and let the Postal Management and Union work on these problems.

White BMW convertible parked right outside Crawl Post Office all day long preventing the space being available for our seniors to facilitate their easier access.
The owner could easily park on the northern side with other worker vehicles but I guess she feels more important than her customers. Don’t try collecting a package near closing time, she locks the doors before five.

The postal workers should be thankful that they even have a job – there are dozens out there who would grab those jobs in a minute! This is another prefect example of the BIU ‘flexing their (flabby) muscles’ – at the expense of the people they are supposedly protecting. Geeeeeesh BIU members – stop being hoodwinked !
I have a mailbox for sale in Southampton East. Not being used anymore. Not sure why. Haven’t had a bill or letter in months. Going cheap.

You would like us to support you?? How about telling us what the dispute is over. That’s one of the problems around Bermuda. People supporting things and don’t even know why.
How about we get a notification that a parcel is ready for collection in less than seven days of it’s arrival……maybe, just maybe, you would have the support of the people if they got decent service. Such a shoddy outfit for an island this size!
ASK OBA WHY THERE IS EVEN A DISPUTE. IT’S NOT THE WORKERS ITS THE OBA, SO BEFORE SOME BLOGGERS RUN OFF, FIND OUT WHY THERES A DISPUTE..ITS NOT BECAUSE OF THE WORKERS, THE PMG IS REALLY NOT THE “BOSS” BOB RICHARDS IS.
MOST OF US WOULD WANT A NICE CAR…LOTS OF PEOPLE WORK VERY HARD FOR THEIR WANTS & NEEDS..SO DONT HATE ON THE SISTER WHO HAS WHAT SHE WANTS.ALSO CRAWL POST OFFICE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DELIVERY OF HS02/HS01 HS IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT OFFICE,EVEN THOUGH IT’S IN CRAWL. THERE IS A HIRING FREEZE!!!!!
Don’t blame the hiring freeze as it was your Union that put that option forward instead of extending furlough days.
On top of that the SAGE report noted that the BPO was overstaffed by almost 100 employees. Now a few years later there is a massive staff shortage?

Not sure why the Union insists on hurting the people who depend on services.
When public sector unions go on strike they aren’t hurting a profit motivated business owner, they are hurting the public they serve.
Can i just get my mail delivered. It is very inconvenient for MY MOTHER senior who is sick and cannot get out much and has no car, and her adult child has to work from, 8 am to 7 p.m. ( cause her pension does not help much so have to work long hours to help) so NO I CAN’T GET THE MAIL!!!!! First they close Harrington Sound, and NOW WE HAVE NO POSTMAN. If you expect me to pay my taxes – then I EXPECT my mothers mail (& mine)
