Wells Transfer “Isn’t A Worry” For Coach Wagner
Transfer talk surrounding Nahki Wells – Huddersfield Town’s top scorer – “isn’t a worry” for club coach David Wagner, even as Wolves, Fulham, and QPR are “said to be admirers” of the Bermuda striker.
A story in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner says, “David Wagner says transfer talk over Huddersfield Town’s top scorer Nahki Wells isn’t a worry for him.
“Wolves, who have just sold former Town loan frontman Benik Afobe to AFC Bournemouth for £10m, are the latest club to be linked with the Bermuda international.
“Wells, Town’s £1.5m record signing from Bradford City two years ago, aims for his 10th goal of the season when Charlton Athletic visit.
“Both Fulham, who come to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, and QPR are also said to be admirers of the 25-year-old.
“But Wagner says he has assurances from chairman Dean Hoyle that no deal on any player will be done without his approval.”
“This is something we have spoken about,” said Wagner. No players will leave us in this window if I am not happy with the situation, so we feel protected.
“To be honest, is my players are targets of other clubs, I am happy, because it means they doing a good job and developing. Hopefully they will feel more confident if they are admired by others. For me, I am not worried or afraid.”
