Women’s Futsal: Dandy Star Defeat PHC 12 – 5
The latest round of women’s futsal action saw SCC defeat YMSC by default and receive 3 points, while Dandy Stars defeated defending champions PHC by a score of 12 to 5.
PHC started the first half with only four players and were punished by a determined Stars who led at the half by 5- 0. Stars could have easily doubled the score if it was not for some outstanding goal keeping by PHC’s Kalay Hollis.
In the second half, PHC’s Smira Lowe-Darrell made up the needed fifth player and made an immediate impact with her 3 goals and helped PHC make a great comeback scoring 4 goals to Stars 2.
However, Shauntae Todd of Stars could not be stopped as she scored 5 goals and Stars ended up scoring 7 goals to PHC’s 5 in the half to win the game. Shauntae Todd was outstanding for Stars scoring 7 goals, and goalkeeper Kalay Hollis was MVP for PHC.
This result sets up the possibility of having a new league winner as PHC has been champions for the last 3 years.
