Photos: Head Shaving Event At Docksiders
Over $150,000 was raised on Friday night as people volunteered to have their head shaved in exchange for donations in support of funding research to help find cures for childhood cancers.
The event was held at Docksiders, and served to support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. Government.
.
According to the event website, the event has raised $152,761 as of this writing, and proceeds raised from events in Bermuda will be managed by Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre to fund the SunSmart program and by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund life-saving research.

As a Cancer survivor I take this time to thank everyone who’d taken a part in raising the funds for further research…
What an achievement and what a sacrifice from many. All participants must be proud of their efforts to help battle childhood cancer.
I so admire these men and women. Their love for the children is awesome.
