Men Charged In Connection With 2012 Murder
In Magistrates Court this morning [April 18], two men were charged in connection with the 2012 murder of Lorenzo Stovell.
Zikai Cann was charged with the murder of Mr Stovell as well as with using a firearm, while Cordova Simons-Marshall was charged with handling a firearm and assisting a person who committed a felony.
Mr Stovell, who was partially paralyzed from having been shot on a previous occasion, was fatally shot while sitting outside Woody’s on September 23, 2012.
As the charges must be heard in the Supreme Court, neither defendant had to enter a plea.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Mr Cann into custody, while Mr Simons Marshall was granted $25,000 bail with a like surety and ordered to surrender travel documents and report to the police twice a week.
