The Bermuda Association for the Education of Young Children [BAEYC] is inviting teachers, caregivers, parents, and guardians of children in preschool, primary, Government private schools, nurseries, and day care centres to participate in their annual celebrations of The Week of the Young Child, being held from April 9 through April 14 with the theme “Investing In Young Children, Benefits All.”

An official opening of ‘The Week of the Young Child’ is being held at City Hall at 10.00am today [Apr 11], including musical selections by children from various schools.

BAEYC SAVE THE DATE 2015

On April 12, the public is invited to “have a play date at your school with a neighboring school,” followed by the Annual Week of the Young Child Conference featuring presenter Dr. Sharon Speir from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, with the theme “Inviting Children’s Curiosity into Learning through Inquiry Based Teaching.” Registration for the conference is at 5.30pm on the day of the event, to be held at Warwick Preschool.

On April 14, the public is invited to “Wear the Rainbow,” with participating schools wearing a colour from the rainbow because “Our Future is Bright.” Contact a BAEYC representative to receive stickers for each child who donates $1; participating schools will have a chance to win prizes.
