Street Food Festival Postponed Until Sunday
The City of Hamilton has announced that tomorrow’s Street Food Festival is postponed to Sunday April 10th due to heavy winds forecast for Saturday morning.
“Winds of 20 – 25 knots are predicted for Saturday morning which prohibits the setup of tents and activities along Front Street. Organizers have spoken with Bermuda Weather Service before making this difficult decision,” the City said.
“The Street Food Festival will instead be held the next day on Sunday April 10th, at the same time, 3pm – 9pm.
“The free Street Food Festival is the culmination of a week-long event in Hamilton and it involves up to 20 local restaurants, local artisans and ‘foodies’, eating contests and a Bermuda Dish competition. This is where locals bring samples of their homemade fish chowder, rum swizzle, chicken wings, loquat recipe or other Bermudian cuisine.
“The grand final of the City Food Festival Chef Competition takes place at 5pm in car park # 5 and on Front Street, between Burnaby and Parliament Streets.
“The whole day promises to be a fun family-focused event where the public can try different foods from many participating vendors.”
