Citizens uprooting racism in Bermuda seem to not like immigrants, so I’m just gonna go ahead and guess this presentation and discussion and all comments by the attendees and presenters will basically be an anti-immigration rally.
seems like immigrants do not respect the people of this land to which they are priviledged to even be around, let alone prosper in and never even give a thought to reciprocity..or the affects of having so many nationalities in such a small place, confusion abounds with opinions and the immigrant continues to seek sympathy, our people ARE at home, the homeless ones are immigrants seeking to be Bermudians by any means necessary because they despise the home that their ancestors were born in.. don’t throw shade because I want a place in my own country ,um not seeking to take up residency in anyone elses land nor do I want to be them, so dress back on that not liking immigrants, lets look at what it has meant for each and every Born Bermudian with inalienable rights to the land versus those who just Wannabe.
@Ffs – Empathy is what many of us lack and dont even try to understand another’s point of view. Have you even been to a Curb Presentation? If not, I suggest you attend before jumping to conclusions and then have your opinion.
Anywhere else this would have been called ‘a meeting of a right wing group’.
You’ve, “hit the nail upon its head.”
CURB has never been anti-immigrant. We understand the urgent need for immigration reform. We also understand the government proposal’s in their Pathways to Status amendment would have resulted in extremely negative consequences for the Black community. There has to be a way forward so that all concerns will be looked at and the proper research, comparisons to other small jurisdictions and colonial territories made, and a thorough understanding of the social, politicial, cultural, economic and racial outcomes evaluated. Whatever is decided has to be sustainable as Bermuda has one of the highest population densities in the world. Bermuda’s 2010 census put Bermuda’s population at 64,237 and with an area of 20.5 sq miles it has a calculated population density of 1,207 per km. To get this in the wider context, an average population density of 53/km was found for the World.
True…you’re just anti-white immigrant…plain and simple
You guys are what you profess to hate and fight against.
But hey at least you got yours right?
Hi Lynne – what specific items in the Pathways to Status proposal would have “resulted in extremely negative consequences for the Black community”? And what impact would these same proposals have had on the White community? I am genuinely interested in hearing from you on this and not trying to stir the pot in any way. Thx in advance!
Pathways to Status might have created a few jobs, hence more work. More work, that’s never a good thing.
What’s that Lynne? Crickets chirping? You have no response to these very valid questions? I didn’t think so. Keep telling yourself CURB isn’t anti white or anti immigration and maybe, just maybe, you’ll believe it. Just spewing hate as usual.
You’re anti-white and anti-foreigner. You’re a right wing racist hate group.
Since 2010 we have lost a significant number of residents and that loss is hurting Bermuda. That INCLUDES the black community.
CURB has lost its way. You are simply fueling the fires that had a bunch of people on the Hill supporting a politically motivated hunger strike that never was……
“Pathways to Status amendment would have resulted in extremely negative consequences for the Black community”.
So not Bermudians in general, only Black Bermudians? Meaning that CURB assumes that those granted status would be only be white? WOW!
