Photos & Video: “Anthem Of The Seas” Arrives

[Updated] In what marks the largest ever cruise ship to visit the island, the Royal Caribbean Quantum Class Anthem of the Seas arrived in Bermuda this morning [May 2] carrying nearly 4500 cruise visitors.

The Royal Caribbean ship – just a year after its maiden voyage – is due to dock at Heritage Wharf at the Royal Naval Dockyard later this morning.

The Anthem of the Seas is pictured below off the east end just before 7.00am this morning

    Floating hotels,or floating Cities ,seem to be the way to go now.The sinking of the ,,,Titanic…..during peacetime,has scared me off these large floating vessels ,I do believe forever.I pray for a successful financial for Bermuda,however ,be it as it may,it looks as if it is the ,way to go forward,in Bermuda.Peace.

          Sounds like what happened up National Stadium with de track being taken up twice and de airport with no bathrooms and I don’t want to go there with de F!@#ed up round about they just did !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Just think how much use that new dock would have been for this if we hadn’t cleaned up the mess of the first job.

    So proud of The Honourable Dr.Ewart Brown and the P.L.P. Government for having the ,,,,,vision,,,,for building the Dock for these,,,,floating hotels ,,,,in Dockyard whilst in their Tenure ,as Government of Bermuda.Qudos to The P.L.P. Peace.

      I suppose being able to see past the end of one’s nose counts as “vision” on this island these days. Fair enough I suppose :)

      It was one of only a few choices left to us… shame they didn’t have the vision to not cut corners on the first dock works and get it right the first time

    U’lot keep talking about the dock, what about all them passenger that will get off them cruise-ships and discover there isn’t adequate transportation available :-( By the way, I’m speaking in reference to this huge Anthem of The Seas…What’ll happen when other ship/s arrive?

    Just want to know will there be any job opportunities down there for us young folks? I use to do hair for the cruseship ppl and I would love to do it again if I am able too does anyone know of who I should contact now since all new plans have been made for Dockyard?
